Notifications and Reminders

2 min readUpdated July 13, 2026

Notifications exist to be useful exactly when needed and silent otherwise — every type has its own switch, and your lock screen never learns your numbers.

The notification settings screen with per-type toggles and a reminder time picker
One switch per notification type, plus the hour you want nudges delivered.

The notification types

  • Budget alerts — a budget crossed 80%, and again at 100%. Early enough to steer.
  • Recurring reminders — an upcoming scheduled entry (rent, card due dates, EMIs) is approaching.
  • Weekly digest — your week's summary landed in Smart Insights.
  • Month in review — last month's review is ready.
  • Level completed — you finished a Mutation Path level. Worth celebrating.
  • Streak at risk / stalled nudge — gentle taps when your tracking habit is slipping; reassurance, never guilt.

Setting them up

  1. Allow notifications once

The browser (or installed app) asks for permission the first time you enable any type.

  2. Toggle the types you want

Settings → Notifications — each type has its own switch; start with budget alerts and recurring reminders.

  3. Pick your reminder time

Choose the hour nudges arrive. Evening works for most people — it pairs with the daily recording habit.
