Migrate with the Template Workbook

2 min readUpdated July 12, 2026

The template workbook is one Excel file that carries a complete financial life: your accounts (credit cards and loans included), your categories, your recurring rules, and all your transaction history. Fill it once, import once, and Wealth Mutant continues where your old app stopped.

Step by step

The Import page showing three steps: download the template workbook, copy the AI conversion prompt, and upload the filled workbook
The whole migration is three cards on one page.
  1. Download the template

Go to Settings → Import and download the template (.xlsx).

  2. Let an AI fill it (or fill it yourself)

The README sheet walks through the four data sheets and includes a ready-made AI conversion prompt: paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini together with your old app's export, and the AI restructures your data into the template's sheets for you. On each data sheet, hover any column header for a note on what it expects (required or optional, format, and an example).

  3. Fill the four data sheets

Accounts, Categories, Recurring, Transactions — paste or type.

  4. Upload and preview

Upload the workbook on the Import page. You'll get a per-sheet preview — check the numbers before anything is written.

  5. Import

Accounts are created with their opening balances, then categories, recurring rules, and transactions, in the right order.

What the sheets support

  • Accounts — every type, including credit cards (statement/due days) and loans (interest rate, payment style). Opening balances anchor at the date you give.
  • Transactions — expenses, income, and transfers (a transfer is a single row: from-account plus to-account). Tags and notes come along.
  • Categories & Recurring — your structure and your schedule arrive intact.
