Nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere, and there is nothing to sign up for.

In the app, this is your cash, bank, savings, investment and retirement accounts.

How the sum works

It is plain division: your savings divided by what you spend in a month. No investment growth and no inflation are assumed, so the answer is simply how many months the money covers.

The savings you could spend are the headline because a house does not pay for groceries. Your net worth after debts counts everything you own, so it comes second: often a longer number, but slower to turn into cash.

The rows under the answer cut your spending by 10%, 25% and 50%, to show what spending less buys you in time.

An example

Say you have 18,000 in savings you could spend, a net worth of 30,000 after debts, and you spend 2,000 in an average month. The savings last 9 months (18,000 ÷ 2,000), and your net worth after debts lasts 1 year 3 months.

With spending cut by 10%, the savings last 10 months. Cut by 25%, they last 1 year, and cut by 50%, 1 year 6 months.

What the app does with your own numbers

In Wealth Mutant, Future Self works out your runway from your own accounts: your cash, bank, savings, investment and retirement balances, divided by your real average monthly spending. The same 10%, 25% and 50% cuts sit right under it.
